Emmett

Nestled in secluded Emmett Valley and part of Gem County, this small town is beautiful. It is surrounded by hills and the Payette River. Emmett is located 45 minutes from downtown Boise offering reasonable seculsion from the larger city life. Living in Emmett is all about the outdoor country lifestyle. There is fishing, BLM access, Little Gem Cycle Park for ATV's, and a nice lake. The lake "Black Canyon Reservoir" is a great place to swim, boat, paddleboard, kayak, and fish. There is also a 9 hole golf course in Emmett. Several city parks are located in the city as well as the Gem Island Sports Complex complete with 8 baseball fields, a skateboard park, basketball courts, volleyball coursts, amphitheater, and paved walking paths. Emmett has three race tracks including: Firebird Raceway for drag racing, Black Canyon Speedway for dirt go-kart racing, and Blue Valor Motorplex for go-kart racing. Stoney's Roadhouse, Idaho's newest and biggest country bar, is a great place for concerts, dancing, and events. The town itself is self contained offering everything you need! Emmett has plenty of peach, cherry, and apple orchards as well as livestock such as cattle, goats, horses, and sheep. You'll find fruit stands throughout the valley to enjoy some of Emmett's finest produce. The Cherry Festival is the most popular annual event in Emmett with fun events for everyone. In the summer, the city also has a farmer's market every week. Emmett also has a great rodeo hosted at the Gem County Fairgrounds. There is also an annual classic cruise nigh and dirt bike rodeo. Even though Emmett, in Gem County, is separate from the larger cities in the Treasue Valley, there is plenty the city has to offer to keep you entertained year round!
